When Raheleh (Minoosh) Zomorrodinia, a photographer and ecological artist from Tehran, came to the United States to study in San Francisco she emailed images of my art to her friends back in Iran within the Persian New Art Group, who invited me to collaborate via the internet on an ice book project during the 30th Environmental Art Festival in Shoushtar. In Iran, Tarhere Goodarzy molded and carved the ice book, and Isfahan artist Nooshin Naficy arranged the seeds, which she had found growing along the riverbank. The book was then placed into the Karun River and photographed by Shahmaz Zarkesh. |
