ICE BOOK large prints

note: The Ice Book images below have been printed and framed (approx. 3’ x 4’ or 90 x 120 cm each); please see the top two images for reference.

large prints of Ice Book sculptures: Archivally printed and framed in Belgium. Chromagenic prints on Baryta paper.

Ice Book sculptures: Hand-carved ice sculptures are embedded with local riparian seeds selected in consultation with botanists and stream ecologists. The Ice Books emphasize the necessity of communal effort, scientific knowledge, and artistic expression to focus on complex issues of climate disruption and watershed restoration. The ephemeral sculptures are launched into waterways during community events, and as the ice melts the seeds are released to help repair nearby riverbanks.
